This Antique Irish Crochet Lace Motif, handmade by local lace makers circa 1913, is from the County Cork Industrial Association, Distributors of Real Irish Handmade Laces and Crochet.
This Irish Crochet Lace Motif is called a Shamrock Spray Motif and consists of five small Irish Crochet Shamrocks on a central Irish crochet stem. The motif was worked in a very fine crochet thread using a very fine crochet hook.
Measuring 1.5 inches wide by 2 inches high, the crochet lace comes displayed on blue felt in a mount measuring 6 inches by 8 inches which fits a standard frame.
There are 106 of these motifs in the County Cork Industrial Association Lace Collection. Each motif has been numbered and comes with a Letter of Authentication.
